Countdown to Challengers
Get ready for this movie to be my whole personality.

I have never been more excited or rabid for a movie… since the last Zendaya movie Dune: Part 2 came out a month and a half ago. Dune: Part Two came out a week before I was laid off and since then, I’ve been living for getting that second hit of watching a movie with Zendaya and her hot co-stars to ground me in this whirlwind of a time I’ve been having. (I literally made an AMC app alert to get tickets for the early screening happening on the 22nd. Stay tuned for a review!)
Put plainly, I have not acted normal about this movie since it was announced and even less so when the first trailer dropped as a day-belated birthday gift. I can’t wait to watch Zendaya as Tashi Duncan take care of her two little white boys. Keep movies horny! (I will say it is very confounding reading weird online people who don’t… understand what acting…… is? Tom Holland will be just fine.)

A low-hanging pun and still very obvious comment but literally no one else 🎾 serves 🎾 looks like Zendaya on a press tour. As a reminder, here are her iconic Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two looks.

I love it. I love leaning into a theme and love people who lean into a theme. It’s how I feel everyone should approach promoting their movie/costume/theme party.
Zendaya’s work with stylist Law Roach should and probably will be studied. All of her looks have been either excellent preppy country club chic and/or kitsch, but I am obsessed with these Loewe (cheeky pronunciation video here) tennis ball heels. It’s giving (non-)protected C-stand arm (compliment).

And just to mention other great Zendaya looks on this press tour so far, like come on:

The first of her Loewe looks and designed by Loewe creative director/Challengers costume designer Jonathan Anderson, this dress featuring the shadow of a person serving a tennis ball. It’s a very post-modern design that’s fun, but a little spooky if you imagine that someone was sucked into the fabric of this dress and is stuck in that pose for all of eternity. They’re probably the luckiest of us all tbh.

Tennis bracelet and crossed tennis rackets (never cross rackets except in a Luca Guadagnino movie amirite) decals with a skirt made with netting in the pleats? She’s like a beautiful shuttlecock (different racket sport).
Can’t wait for more smashing looks.
