Not "Funny" Haha, "Funny" Weird (But Also Haha)
There is no time for commas, Oxford or not! (I'm pro-Oxford comma btw.)

Hello!
If you’re reading this, this means that I’m no longer writing as a staff member at a website. After 6 years at IGN as a staff video producer and entertainment writer, I was laid off. And just to get this out of the way, I can also segment produce live stream events, research, host videos, interview talent, film, edit, record audio, etc. I’ve worked in digital media my entire career; I’m proudly a jack-of-all-trades.
So while it sucks losing benefits, working alongside my friends, and of course, free snacks, I’m seeing the freedom of writing whatever I want to write about. I’m also financially hopeful that some people pay for a subscription to this? Like I said, I was laid off!
For this Substack, I’ll be still be exercising entertainment writing muscles with full-length reviews (follow my Letterboxd for pithier thoughts), “live”-reacts, and features. But sometimes I’ll be woo-woo with a life-update or travelogue or sharing some new level of my relationship with clothing.
Substack’s “first post” template is explaining I should be clear about how often/which days of the week I’ll be posting and what free vs. paid subscribers get. And I’m not sure yet! It’s probably bad business but I’ll figure that out along the way. I’d love to get your financial support one day, but I thank you for being here right now!
xx Francesca
